AFINIA CARBON FILTER NDC 2000
The filter material used in the filter is a unique composite consisting of porous highly effective activated carbon which is covered on both sides with a material based on polyester micro fibers.
Activated carbon is a safe product with a porous structure and an unusually large specific surface, up to 1500 m2 / gram. Activation of carbon is accomplished by exposing the carbon to high temperature with limited air access.
Thanks to its porous surface, activated carbon has excellent adsorption properties, thus it binds and neutralizes many harmful substances and odors.
The AFINIA filter uses a material with an area of 2385 cm2 and an active carbon mass of 16 g, which gives me a carbon surface of 24,000 m2 !!
In the filtration process, the composite filter material captures most of the impurities in the size of 1-10 micrometers, while eliminating unpleasant and harmful substances. The gravimetric efficiency for AC FINE dust is 96.35%
The material is also characterized by very high dirt absorption and low flow resistance, which affects the long life of the filter.
Activated carbon is obtained from coconut shells and it is the best type of carbon used in filtration.
